Must Matters
Common questions asked by those who would prefer shirking responsibility are: Must I do this? Must I do that? The word must implies that there is need of something to be supplied which is absent or wanting. It means to do something because it is necessary. Lets look at some must matters that are commonly overlooked or ignored. We must be saved in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven given among me by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). The name JESUS! No one will ever be saved in the name of Buddah, Confusius, Mohammed or any other name. Only Jesus is Savior. Only Jesus is the Son of the living God. Only that name will do. We must believe what God had spoken. Without faith it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). God has spoken to us through His Son (Heb. 1:1-4). He who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony that God has given us life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life (1 Jo. 5:10-11). Do you believe in God? Do you believe in His Son Jesus Christ? Do you believe what God has spoken by His Son? For instance, He who believes and is baptized will be saved (Mk. 16:16). We must be born again. Jesus said, You must be born again...Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (Jo. 3:7, 5). We must give heed to the things spoken by Jesus and taught by His apostles (Heb. 2:1-4). This would be the entirety of the New Testament. We must worship in spirit and truth. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (Jo. 4:24). Gods Word is truth (Jo. 17:17). We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. The Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son (Jo. 5:22). Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men (2 Cor. 5:9-11a). Must I, must you do the things mentioned above? Definitely! We are unable to please God should we not do them. He said it, that settles it!
