1. The Chairman Departmental Procurement Committee on behalf of the Road Development Department, Northern Province invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the work as described in the tale below. 2. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding Procedure. 3. To be eligible for contract award, the successful bidder shall not have been blacklisted and shall have been registered in the field of Highway Construction for grade mentioned in the table below with the Institute for Construction Training and Development (ICTAD) 4. Qualification requirements are specified in section 5 of the Bidding Documents. 5. Interested bidders may obtain further information from Chief Engineer, Road Development Department, Kandy Road, Vavuniya(T.P. 024 - 2222953) Fax 024 - 2222090 email :cerddva@gmail.com and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs. 6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the Provincial Director, Road Development Department, # 15, Nallur Cross Road, Northern Province, Jaffna from 12.03.2012 to 02.04.2012 from 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs. Upon payment of a non refundable fee of Rs.1,000.00 The method of payment will be by cash. 7. Bids shall be delivered in duplicate to the Chairman, Departmental Procurement Committee, Road Development Department, #15, Nallur Cross Road, Northern Province, Jaffna on or before 02.04.2012 at 4.30pm. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened soon after closing in the presence of the bidders representatives who choose to attend. 8. Bid shall be valid up to 02nd July 2012 (91 days from closing date) 9. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as per the information given in the table. 10. Maximum of three works only at a time can be awarded for a contractor by Road Development Department, Northern Province. Procurement Committee will be taken final decision.
