Shelton Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on River Rd (aka Route 110) in the area of the Riverdale Diner. At approximately 4:20 PM today May 29, 2012 the Shelton Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle vs motor cycle crash in the area of the Rivendale Diner, 521 River Road. Police and Shelton EMS responded. A 24 year old male who was operating the motor cycle was transported to the Bridgeport Hospital Trauma Center where he was later pronounced dead. The Shelton Police Accident Reconstruction Team is currently conducting an investigation and no other details are available. The name of the operator of the motor cycle is not being released at this time pending notification of family. Route 110 is reduced to one lane in the area and there are delays. Police are asking the public driving in the area to use alternative routes.
