CLASSROOM PROCEDURES*
(Keep in notebook) How to enter homeroom Meet teacher in designated line-up spot outside Enter the room silently Take off coat and outerwear and hang on your chair Immediately begin silent sustained reading and wait for teacher to dismiss you to your locker How to enter homeroom tardy Report immediately to homeroom after checking in with the office Give homeroom teacher your late pass (obtained in the office) Sign the tardy book Teacher will sign and return the pass if the student is due in another class How to enter the classroom Wait quietly in a line outside of the classroom door Wait until you have been invited to enter by the teacher Enter the room silently Take out your materials and put bookbag on the back of your chair How to begin the class Take out homework from last night Write down tonights homework assignment in homework book Read and copy todays agenda Begin bellwork in your notebook immediately (you start the class, not the teacher!) 10 MINUTES ONLY! How to request permission to leave the classroom Raise both of your hands Wait silently until the teacher recognizes you If permission is granted, complete the classroom sign-out sheet

How to request permission to sharpen your pencil Hold your pencil in the air Wait silently until the teacher recognizes you and grants permission How to throw out garbage Students must wait until the end of class to throw out garbage

What to do if you are absent from class (you are responsible for all missed learning and assignments) After you have completed your bellwork, take your notebook and homework book to the learning calendar Copy the agenda and objective into your notebook Copy the homework assignment into your homework book Students have one day to make up missed assignments Contact your study buddy if you have any questions How to set up your paper Complete your heading in the right hand corner - use the white space in the top margin Write your name, class, and the date Rough drafts must be written on every other line Always use complete sentences and write in your own words How to leave the classroom Do not put materials away until you have been instructed to do so After you have been told, pack up your things Clean your desk and work area Quietly leave the room after you have been dismissed Throw any garbage away on your way out When the teacher needs your attention When the teacher raises his/her hand, it is to indicate he/she needs your attention Immediately stop what you are doing and look at the teacher Wait silently and listen to the teacher until he/she is finished When you finish early If you finish your work early, check it over twice! Review notebook or textbook information Read silently at your desk Review your portfolio How to access class materials Raise your hand and wait until the teacher recognizes you Ask to borrow the needed material If permission is granted, fill out the required information on the Materials Sign-out clipboard Ask teacher to sign material sheet Return materials promptly and in the same condition *These procedures may be changed at the teachers discretion.
