The end of the first 9 weeks is upon us, and it is hard to believe that 1/4 of the year is already over! During week 9, the students started working on their novel study projects. With their first novel read, students had to interview the main character, record their final podcast, and create a

a movie trailer. Also during reading, we worked on summaries. We read an inspiring tale of a penguin and polar bear, and the students had to summarize it. Then on Friday, the students had to teach our Tech Buddies how to do the same. In writing, we finished up persuasion, and we wrote

letters to our pen pals in Sierra

Science Test on Tuesday Leone (picture above) and

Argentina. In math we finished up division and started preparing for the American Math Challenge. In science, we surveyed our class on inherited traits and discovered who could roll their tongue. In history we continued our discussion on moving west and the hardships settlers faced.
