Activity

Warm-Up: 1. Divide Ss into Brief introduction- 4 groups with setting the stage assigned group number as 5 minutes preparation for the Jigsaw (1-2 mins) 2. Show photos through projector for Ss to observe 1. Distribute handouts of sentence patters that Ss will be used for discussion 2. Use ppt file demonstrate 1 sample sentence for each city 1. Assign handouts to each group 2. Ss will observe and discuss their findings with group members through the provided questions

Pre-task 1: Vocabulary and Grammar Introduction 10 minutes

1. Handout: Sentence pattern & guided questions (Appendix 4A)

Briefly go through the handout and demonstrate sample answer to each question Ask Ss to mark idioms and vocabulary that they dont know or not sure the exact meaning of the word

Task 1: Jigsaw reading (4 groups) 15 minutes

1.Handouts: Group discussion (Appendix 4B, 4C,4D & 4E) 2. Work sheet: Idiom phrases and new vocabulary finding charts (Appendix 4A)

Stage and Time Post-task 1: Jigsaw sharing (4 groups) 15 minutes

Objective Met 1. Each group will P1, A1, A2 choose 2 presenters to go through the answers of provided questions and share what the marked idioms/vocabulary are with other 3 groups 2. Teacher need to provide correct answers to some questions and give feedbacks to each group 1. Review some M1, sentences/idioms that Ss find challenging in the Jigsaw sharing. 2. Distribute individual worksheet (homework) and explain what Ss have to do for completing the homework
