Lesson Plan

I. LEARNING COMPETENCY :

II. CONTENT:
Electronic components and symbol

K to 12 Industrial Arts – Electronic Parts Assembly and Servicing(NC II)
Curriculum Guide, Laptop, Power point presentation

IV. PROCEDURE:
A. Before the lesson
1. Elicit(5 mins)
The teacher will have a short recap of the previous lesson. A
power point presentation will be shown. He will summarize
the previous lesson and clarify concepts that students find it
difficult to understand. He will be showing four(4) pictures of
different diagrams and let the learners identify what kind of
diagrams based on the picture it represents. He will give
feedback after every question is presented.
The teacher will introduce the next lesson by giving first a pretest
to check the learner’s background knowledge on the new
lesson(Activity 1)
The teacher will introduce the new lesson and state the new
lesson’s objective as a guide for the learners

B. During the lesson


2. Engage(2 mins)
The teacher will ask the following questions:
 Are you familiar with this kind of symbols used in
electronics?
 Do you know what component does it represent in
electronics?
 Do you know what is the function of this component in
electronics?
 Why do we need to study the symbols and functions of
this components?
 The teacher will inform the class of the connection
between the old and new lesson give the purpose of
studying the lesson.
3. Explore(6 mins)
The teacher will show different symbols that are very familiar
around in every corner and let the learners identify what kind
of symbol does it represents.(Activity 2)
4. Explain(20 mins)
The teacher will discuss about electronic components with
corresponding actual picture and its symbols.(Activity 3)

5. Elaborate(25 mins)
The teacher will discuss the definitions and functions of the
electronic components.
The teacher will give a 5 items short formative test. He will be
giving the definition of the component and let the learner
answer right away the said question. He will immediately
give the right answer after each question. He will
acknowledge the participation of the learners after the
formative assessment is finished
The teacher will summarized the lesson and reiterate the
importance of knowing the symbols and definitions of the
electronic component.
6. Evaluate(1 min)
The teacher will ask the learners to draw the symbols of all the
components being discussed.(Activity 4)

C. After the lesson


7. Extend(1 min)
To further deepen the knowledge in electronic components, the
teacher will ask the learners to research at least 5 electronic
component not being discussed. Attach the picture, draw the
symbols and write the function of that component.(Activity 5)
