    Confined Space - Tank Entry

    Purpose: The purpose of this procedure is to outline safe working practices for confined space tank entry. Procedure: 1. Ensure correct safety gear is worn: Hard Hat. Safety Glasses. Safety Boots. Breathing Apparatus. 2. Permit required: Vico Confined Space Entry. 3. A gas test will be done by a production operator prior to permits being signed. 4. All equipment in the tank will be isolated, locked and tagged prior to permit being signed. 5. Breathing Apparatus should be placed at entry to confined space or tank. 6. An additional person will be required to stay at the tank opening whilst anyone is inside the tank. 7. Tank opening is to be of sufficient size to facilitate rescue.
