Experiential Week Instructions

This week is your first experiential week for YearOne. We hope that you have the opportunity to engage in an exciting event of your choice. Here are the guidelines you will need: 1. Choosing an event to attend a. Go to The Link @ RIT to choose an event (www.thelink.rit.edu) i. Go to My ShortcutsYearOne ii. Click on Events (in the left hand toolbar) b. All events are tagged with a theme (Academic Success, Innovation, Leadership or Connections)use these to guide your choice. c. The event you attend must be one listed under the YearOne page on The Link 2. Attending an event a. A Peer Advisor will be at a majority of the events.look for their yellow YearOne shirts 3. After the event a. Go back into The Link i. Go to Events again 1. Click on Past Events 2. Find the event you attended and click on it 3. Click on I Attended ii. Go to My Involvement (at the top of the page) 1. Click on Curriculum Progress 2. Click on YearOne Events 3. Find the corresponding week and look for the caution symbol that says additional information requested iii. Writing the Reflection 1. In the reflection box write a brief reflection on your experience (enough to know you went and engaged) 2. Click Save iv. Submitting your reflection 1. Click Create PDF 2. Save File as Your Name Week X Reflection 3. Submit to the Dropbox on Mycourses
