Introduction / Meaning What is Expanded Polystyrene? Expanded polystyrene is a closed cell cellular material with a very low weight and comparatively high standard, it is immune to water, moisture and most chemicals. It is physiologically harmless, neutral in taste and odor and hygienic is not a nutrient for MicroOrganisms.

Building Insulation Requirements: Most buildings in the Middle East can be classified as Low-rise buildings exposed to the sun. These buildings must be insulated to prevent excessive heat absorption and thereby reduce the complexity and costs of HVAC systems installed; this ensures occupants of maximum comforts with low noise level and reduced air movement. The expanded polystyrene has very low thermal conductivity compared to most of commercial insulation materials.

Physical properties of Polystyrene: Density: 20 24 Kg/m3 Thermal conductivity: 0.037 W/m2. C o Water absorption: Polystyrene is unaffected by moisture.
