Solving word problems by adding and subtracting. Understanding subtraction as an unknownaddend problem. For example, subtract 10 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8. Understanding place value in the tens and ones positions. For example: 23 can be thought of as 2 bundles of 10 and 3 ones or singles. Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data (graphing)
