Writing an opinion piece. The students will give their opinion on something, and explain why (2 reasons) they feel that way. Knowing and applying grade-level phonics and high frequency words. STUDENTS ARE STILL NEEDING A LOT OF PRACTICE IN WRITING THEIR WORD WALL WORDS, AND USING PHONICS SKILLS FOR DICTATION ON FRIDAY!!! Please practice writing the word wall words, and phonics words!!!
Phonics: Consonant patterns ng, nk (think, bring, thing, honk, spring); compound words (baseball, swingset, sandbox, inside, laptop)
Habit 5 for December: Seek first to understand, then to be understood I listen without interrupting, I try to understand other peoples views and feelings even if they are different from my own.
Adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers by multiples of 10 (i.e. 50-20=30; 40+40=80). Practicing counting to 120, and representing, writing, and reading numbers up to 100. Solving two-step word problems, and problems with 3 addends. Understanding subtraction as an unknown-addend problem. For example, subtract 10 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8. Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data (graphing)

Understanding place value in the tens and one positions.
