LITERACY Explaining major differences between books that tell stories and books that give information, drawing on a wide reading of a range of text types. (Non-fiction vs. fiction). Example: This book is non-fiction because it has _________ and a _______. Identifying non-fiction text features: glossary, index, photographs, labels, captions, and table of contents. Knowing and applying grade-level phonics and high frequency words. STUDENTS ARE STILL NEEDING A LOT OF PRACTICE IN WRITING THEIR WORD WALL WORDS, AND USING PHONICS SKILLS FOR DICTATION ON FRIDAY!!! Please practice writing the word wall words, and phonics words!!! Phonics: long a (a_e: ake, ape, age) MATH Practicing counting to 120, and representing, writing, and reading numbers up to 100. Solving word problems by adding and subtracting within 10. Understanding subtraction as an unknownaddend problem. For example, subtract 10 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8. Understanding place value in the tens and ones positions. For example: 23 can be thought of as 2 bundles of 10 and 3 ones or singles. Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data.
