LITERACY
Target skills: The students will continue to describe characters, settings, and events in stories. We will continue to use a retelling rope to retell a story. We are focusing on characters, settings, beginning, middle, end, problem, and solution. The students will be completing a retelling rope graphic organizer on their own. We are practicing writing sentences beginning with an uppercase letter, finger spaces, word wall words spelled correctly, and ending punctuation. Phonics: Short i. x
MATH
We are continuing to practice counting to 120, and representing, writing, and reading numbers up to 100. We are solving word problems by adding and subtracting within 10. We are finding combinations of ten. We are continuing to work with place value in the tens and ones position. For example: The number 27 has 2 groups or bundles of ten, and 7 ones or singles.
