Instrumental Lesson Plan

Objectives: Kids will be having fun and will be matching instruments to their names.

Procedures: 1) Start the PowerPoint and tell that kids that theyll be matching instruments today. 2) Have kids volunteer to come up to the computer and draw a line from the picture of the instrument to the name of the instrument. 3) After the instruments on the slide have all been matched, click one of the pictures to have kids listen to a solo on that instrument. 4) Repeat until all families of instruments are gone through. (Strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion.)

Materials: PowerPoint presentation with the instruments on them.

Prior Knowledge: Kids will have seen this instruments/heard them before this activity.

Indicators of Success: Kids will be having fun and will be able to identify the instruments through sight and sound.

Follow Up: Bring the actual instruments in and possible and let kids look at them. (If instruments are available.)
