What is the genre of music? The genre of music magazine is going to be Indie. I will follow conventions of other indie magazines such as Q and NME. These magazines normally attract their target audience by putting exactly what they want to see on the front cover, such as a well known artist or gossip that may interest them. Indie artists normally have a chilled personality, which is what I will have to portray in my images. They are also not very well known and are not normally signed to well known record labels and have lots of money so I will also have to show this in my images. What group will you be representing in your images? I will be representing younger generations of indie artists such as 16-25 year olds. This is because teenagers are the most up to date on social networking sites, which is normally where people spread news and information. My model will be white as most indie artists are usually white males. However, I will be using a white female. My model is also going to be young, as the image needs to appeal to the target audience. How will you be representing them through mise-en-scene? I will represent my indie artist through the use of mise-en-scene by having my model wearing indie clothing and in a pose that is common throughout other indie magazines. Indie artists usually have a cool persona about them, which makes them seem like they have attitude. I need to represent this attitude in my images by using many different facial expressions. The makeup for my model will be natural, as other than heavy eye makeup, indie artists usually dont wear much makeup. My image will also be a medium close up so that the facial expressions are easy to see. I will not have any props in my image, as it will most probably distract the reader away from the main image. What camera shots will you be using? My camera shot for my front cover is going to be a medium close up so that you will be able to see the facial expression of my model. I also want to make the image seem more intimate than the rest of the images that I will take, which will be long shots or action shots.
