Intro- In the heart of Hoboken NJ, Carlos Bakery has been providing the public with delicious treats for generations and now is looking to expand their business with new locations throughout New Jersey. Recently the famous Bake Shop from TVs the Cake Boss has taken root in downtown Westfield but has been met with some mixed reviews as to what this notoriety can bring to the small business rich town. More importantly, the location they have selected for their new store seems to have upset some locals. Located on 105 Elm Street a few stores down from the town favorite Bovellas pastry shop, many see the move as sign that support for small family owned businesses has diminished over the years. Dana Sacks of Scotch Plains who frequents Bovellas was very surprised by the proximity of the new bakerys location.

I cant believe the town would let them move in so close, its just, its just rotten, I just dont get it.

Overall, the move has mixed reviews, some think it is a good thing for the town as it brings in more people to shop and frequent other businesses but others see it as a betrayal to the core values of small family owned stores trying to survive in a corporation driven economy.
