The Carndonagh Christmas Tree Committee

Research Ideas The purpose of this social action project is to highlight the work of the people, in the Carndonagh Christmas Tree Committee, who organise an annual Christmas event which involves rising and lighting a tree in the middle of this small town. This is a very important and exciting event for the local community as it brings people together to join in Christmas spirit and allows the community to feel positive about their town. For this film, I followed the outlined timeline: Request the committee for permission to film them. Assemble a crew from the contact list. Plan a schedule for filming. Write questions for interviews. Arrange times for interviews and locations. Film the cutting down and rising of the tree. Film the lighting of the tree. The people I interviewed were Albert Doherty who is the PRO (Public Relations Officer) of the committee and Gabriel Duffy who was the former treasurer and now assistant treasurer. The Committee has been around for forty years and started out as an idea between six men in a local pub. Carndonagh

Target Audience
The target audience for the Carndonagh Christmas Tree Committee was local people in Carndonagh who were interested in the Christmas tree and/or the committee and anyone who were interested in becoming a member.
