Unit: We Built a Zoo Lesson Plan Week 1 Wednesday: Affirmative Commands Oral Assessment Learning Target: Ask questions

about the attributes of places and things. Now that we have learned about when and how affirmative commands function, it is time to practice using them in everyday conversations. Students are ask to pair up with other students and ask Que reglas tienen en tu casa? Or What rules do you have in your household. The other student responds En mi casa hay la regla . . . In my house we have the rules that . . . While saying the rules the practice the affirmative command form of verbs. The student that is not talking takes notes writing the rules of the others household on a sheet of paper. Partners switch roles so that they can both speak. Through the course of this conversation the students use their knowledge of affirmative commands, but they also realize that they do not know how to form negative commands, which will be taught during the course of the next week. Students turn in the two sheets of household rules before they leave which acts as an exit slip.
