Sr.Noor said that we should make a play about Jamestown, actually we asked. She said yes. So we made props wrote a script and rehearsed it. It was very funny. So Sr.Noor videotaped it and later we watched it. Everybody played something. It was about John Rolfe growing tobacco and needing to have slaves.
Volcanoes toilet paper explosion We were studying about volcanoes when Sr.Noor said we were doing an experiment. We were in groups each making volcanoes. One group made a shield volcano one made a stratovolcano and a cindercone volcano. Then we put a construction paper tube through it. After that we painted it. The next day when it dried. Sr.Noor put baking soda and the groups put vinegar and babam! It exploded.
THE RAFFLE In class Sr.Noor said we would have a raffle for our potato plant and our pet snails. Everybody wanted the snails , except a few people. First what we did was we wrote our names and folded them until they were tiny. First we did the snail raffle and Samra won that. Next we did the potato plant and Noor won that. Most of the students were sad , but they also felt happy for the people who won. Typed By: noor and Ayah
.Sunset funeral
In our ecosystem project we had 2 water snails one was sunset and the other was midnight . Then we raffled and Samra won the snails, so she took them home. Then, she broke the news to us, sunset had passed on. So the best place to bury it was school because it was also the classes. So we buried it at school and Sarah, Samra , Azra , and Noor made speeches. Then Samra buried it and put her tomb stone. So sad. Written By:Sarah and Noor
Earthquake Experiment To start off our new lesson in science earthquakes we did an experiment to simulate an earthquake.
Materials: 2 foam blocks A tray A wooden block Soil Process: First we put the foam blocks which symbolized tectonic plates. Then, we spred the soil on top of the foam blocks. The soil represented earths crust. We pushed the tray off of the table 2 inches .Then we tapped the block on the bottom of the tray. When we did that the plates moved away in an up and down motion. When we shook the tray, the plates moved against each other. By: Bayann and Hamnah EDITED BY;CLASS AND SARAH
