Topic/Title of Lesson: Pattern eatable bracelet Focused Domain: Cognitive
Goal: For children to develop their own knowledge of a pattern.
Objective: Children will create their own color pattern.
Procedure: In a small group, colored fruit loops will be in separate bowls
categorized by color. The children will create their own pattern on a string.
The children will start their pattern one by one with the teacher to get their
specific pattern started. They will then continue their pattern until finished.
Advanced Preparation: Purchase fruit loop cereal. Separate colors into
Different bowls. Purchase and cut string.
List Materials: Fruit loop cereal/string/bowls
Developmental Benefits: Language/physical-fine motor/creativity/emotional
Future Plans: Simplify by using only 2-3 color.
Challenge by having children start their pattern on their own.
