Hello Parents,
Welcome to the online newsletter where you can
stay up to date on all we have going on here at
McWhorter.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, is Open House night as
well as our Health Fair. Please, Please come. I
would love to meet each one of you! There will be
many stations set up in the gym covering various
topics that will be both interesting and
educational.
The rotation schedule for Open House will be as
follows:
Rotation 1 - 5:00-5:20
Rotation 2 - 5:20-5:40
Rotation 3 - 5:40-6:00
Health Fair will be from 6-7 in the GYM.

It is absolutely critical that your child know their
multiplication tables. Those who do not, are
noticeably struggling more than those who do.
These should be mastered by this point, and there
is simply no time in the day to go back and teach
this. Students who need work in this area need to
practice at home (please supervise while your child
practices).

Whats Up This Week?
Reading: elements of a Plot (setting, conflict,
resolution, etc..), imagery, informational text
Math: dividing fractions and mixed numbers.
Science: taxonomy- classifying organisms &
ecosystems
Social Studies: Patriotism, and the roles and
responsibilities of a citizen.

practicing multiplication/division facts if not yet
