A description of the activity
Students can use these sites as a starting point to start to explore tourism in
Alberta. This can help them further examine what kinds of festivals, fairs,
celebrations and rodeos Alberta has and how these help celebrate Alberta.
Students can split into groups and each choose a festival or fair to research in
detail. They can then create a poster or pamphlet about it and present it to the rest
of the class.

An explanation as to why this activity is enhanced through computer integration.
This activity is enhanced by using the Internet because it allows students to do a
vast amount of research about their chosen event. This information would not be
as greatly available without using the Internet. This allows students to look at all
the festivals and fairs in Alberta before they choose one. They can then click on
other links on the sites to take them to sites with even more detail. Using the
internet also allows them to find pictures of events for their projects.
