Analysing a double page spread.

Headline- the first part is in a black type font that shows

tradition, where as the Nicki Minaj part in pink block
capitals which makes the magazine look more modern
also pink, connotes feminity and beauty. The pink
typography immediately catches the eye of the audience
this may persuade the audience to buy the magazine due
instantly knowing who is featured in the magazine. The
main image is also covering part of the headline which
suggests that billboard are confident thinking that the
audience will recognise the music artist name.

Main image- the main image is a midshot of Nicki Minaj posing and she is
wearing an unusual zebra print outfit.
This expresses her personality as unique.
The main image is placed across the
double page which shows this is the most
dominate on the page. Nicki Minaj being
the artist advertised suggests that the
target audience is mostly teenagers.

Strapline- the strapline is in serif font

which connotes tradition. The
strapline is also in black typography
which adds seriousness to the page
and contrasts well on its pink
background so the audience can read
it easily.
Drop capital- a drop capital is used to
start the beginning of an article. This is
in pink bold typography as is stands
out from the rest of the article which is
good and useful as it is eye catching
and helps the audience to locate the
begin of the article more easily.

Kicker- summaries the

article so this tells the
audience about the
article but in brief
detail without them
having to read the
whole of it. So this will
persuade the target
audience to want to
read the article as it
will be convenient for
them if they only want
to read relevant
information.

Pull-quote- this attracts

the readers attention as it
makes them feel involved
and up to date with what
the music artist feels and
they may relate to it.
Vertical column- the vertical
columns are used to frame
the main image. The articles
being in columns are helpful
and functional as they make
the double page spread look
professional and make it
easier for the audience to
read.
