for IUDM idol! She will be performing at
Buffa Louies on Wednesday October 28th.
It starts at 7pm and Lexi will perform
around 7:30. This event will count for a
Sisterhood PEARL!

Is Faith in God Reasonable?


Debate Forum
A free scholarly debate between IU
Professor Colin Allen and MIT Professor
Troy Van Voorhis about whether belief in
a higher power is reasonable. This event
will be in the IU Auditorium at 8pm on
Tuesday October 28th. Contact Andrea
Whitt or Shri if you plan on attending so
DPhiEs can get seats together! You do
not need a ticket to go. This event will
count for a Self or Scholarship PEARL!

Justice? Emergent Theatre Project

Kirkwood Observatory Open House

If you are interested in the performing arts,


social justice, or just meeting new people on
campus and having fun, you should consider
attending an information meeting for the
Justice? Emergent Theatre Project! This years
theme is Justice? (or lack thereof) and it is
hosted by the Office of Diversity Education.
They are looking for talent in areas of acting,
writing, singing, poetry, dancing, and stepping.
If you are interested this is a great chance to
develop these skills in a close-knit group
setting! Nichelle Whitney is an active member
and she would love DPhiE girls to consider
participating. The information sessions will
take place on Tuesday October 28th from 56:30pm at Ballantine 208 and Wednesday
October 29th from 5:30-7pm in Fine Arts 010.

If you have never been to the observatory you


have the chance to check it out every
Wednesday night until December 31st starting
this Wednesday October 29th. IU is lucky to
have amazing stargazing equipment for
students to enjoy viewing planets and stars. It is
free and the hours are Wednesdays from 7:30
to 9:30pm. This event will count for a
Scholarship PEARL!

Massage Break at Asian Culture
Center
Feeling super stressed lately and need a break?
Come to the Asian Culture Centers massage
event and relax with some friends! There will
be massage chairs, mood checks, snacks,
socializing, and chances to learn more about
wellness and stress management. This event
will be Wednesday October, 29th from 5-7pm at
the Asian Culture Center (located on tenth
across from Collins). There is no cost but please
bring your student ID and RSVP by emailing
toacc@indiana.edu This event will count for a
Self PEARL!

Kinsey Institutes Undress Me Event


Series
The Kinsey Institute is hosting a series called
Undress Me: A Peek at 19th and Early 20th
Century Undergarments. The event will
feature photographs and antique clothing such
as corsets, petticoats, robes, and other rare
items that wore worn by women many years
ago. If youre interested in history, sexuality, or
feminism this event is one you wont want to
miss! The series will be at the Kinsey Institute
every day Monday-Friday from the hours of
1:30pm 5:00pm until December 19th. This
event will count for a Scholarship PEARL!

Donate Money for IUDM Gift Basket
Kylie Kovach is organizing a gift basket to
donate to our Riley Family of gift cards, gas
cards, and other small items to make sure our
family enjoys their stay in Bloomington
during IUDM! They only need a few dollars
and Kylie is asking for any donations to be
turned in to her by Thursday or Friday by the
latest. They are also planning on creating a
banner so if you want in on that contact her as

Diversity Leadership Conference


With the theme of Your Vision, Your Voice,
Your Future the diversity leadership
conference will be hosted on November 1st
with registration starting from 8-9am and
speakers and sessions until 4pm at the IU
auditorium. You can come and go from the
conference as you please and lunch is
provided. Registration has already closed for
this event but I know there will be a group of
Deephers attending! This event will count for a
Scholarship or Social PEARL!

November 1st
As you all know, Anna Atkinson is really pumped
to be participating in the ROMP and so far only
she and Jordan are signed up. The ROMP is an
obstacle course complete with sand, mud, and a
lot of fun! It is hosted at Riddle Point Park and
all proceeds go to benefitting the Middle Way
House of Bloomington. Feel free to dress in your
Halloween costume while competing. The price
of the event is based on the size of our group so
contact Anna Atkinson to know what price you
will have to pay during registration which ends
on the 30th! This event will count for a Service
or Social PEARL!

Life as a student can be really busy, but you
should make time to enjoy some amazing free
shows put on during the year by these two
departments! The IU Cinema is highly regarded
worldwide and the Auditorium schedule for the
year looks really intriguing. Attending shows
like these will help you earn a Scholarship or Self
PEARL!

IU Dance Marathon

Wear Orange on November 3rd to

Everyone who is already a dancer or on track


to becoming a dancer get pumped for IUDM!
You must raise $500 by November 7th to
participate. Even if you are not participating
please consider donating to another sisters
page so we can have lots of DPhiE ladies
dancing! This event will count for a Service
PEARL!

Support RSD
Sarah Riddle shared about her rare nervous
condition called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
Syndrome and how we can support her and
awareness for the disorder by wearing orange
on November 3rd! It would be awesome to post a
picture of yourself wearing orange on social
media and raise awareness for RSDS, doing this
would count for a Sisterhood PEARL!
