Grade 2Weekly Update

Hello Grade 2 Parents,
Well our first term has almost come to a close. On Tuesday we will attend and perform
at the school concert- followed by our class parties.
This week we
- Worked on our summative assessment for Sharing the Planet. We have written our own
booklets detailing all the information we have gathered this unit!
- Worked on addition strategies and measuring in mathematics
- Completed reading assessments to check our progress in reading
Some notes about next week:

Lots of things going on next week. Please see the schedule below. If you havent
already done so- please make sure you have signed up for a parent teacher conference
with you homeroom teacher. You can also schedule a time to meet up with any of the
specialist teachers. Including- Arts, Music, PE, ELL teachers and our Learning Support
teacher.
We will complete a small math assessment- just to check in on progress on Sunday or
Monday
Remember we will have our class parties on Tuesday. If you have any questions about
the party please contact the homeroom parent from your classroom.
Timings for Tuesday December 16th

The concert:
Grade Two will perform at 9:30am.
The class party (which parents are encouraged to attend) starts at 1:30pm
We look forward to celebrating together

Homework for the Break

Next week there will be no homework posted in Edmodo for Grade two. However over the break
please encourage you children to do the following:
1. Log into log on to RAZ kids and read every day
2. Go to http://hzsd.ca/learningcenter/library/math+resources/Grade+2+Math+Websites
And play some great grade 2 math games
