What are we learning?

Reading-We are learning reading strategies to help us become better

readers. We are learning
>To look at the pictures to figure out unknown words. The pictures tell
us the words we do not know (Eagle Eye)
> Say the first sound of the word and try to guess the word based on the
beginning sound (Lips the fish)
>To stretch out words slowly like a snake to hear all the sounds
> We look for chunks, or parts of the word that we know to figure out
unknown words (Chunky Monkey)
We are also learning about silent e and digraphs. Digraphs are 2 letters
that make one sound such as sh, th, ch, ph and wh.
Math- We are learning how to describe shapes by the number of sides
they have. We are continuing to measure. We are continuing to write and
count numbers 1-100.
Social Studies- We are learning about maps and globes.
Science- We are learning about forces of motion and physical properties.
We are learning about weather

sentences.
