Questions

Purpose
The purpose of the survey is to
fully understand how much
average drivers know about tires.
It will help me better talk to my
audience, to see how much
experience they have and where
to begin each lesson.

Survey Method
I used paper for my first surveyors,
but transferred them to survey
monkey. I then had most of my
applicants on Survey Monkey.

Subjects- 28
My audience surveyed was
average drivers. I recruited them
because I dont want opinions from
mechanics or individuals who do
not drive. Rather, I want opinions
from everyday people who would
benefit from knowing more about
tires.

1. Are you male or

female?
2. Do you have a car jack,
wrench, and spare tire
in your car?
3. Can you change your
own tires?
4. Do you know how to
check tread?
5. Do you know how to
check your tires air
pressure?
6. Do you know the sizes
best for your tires?
7. Can you rotate your
own tires?
8. Do you know how
many miles until you
have to rotate your own
tires?
9. Do you know if your
tires are directional or
non-directional?
10.Do you change your oil
regularly?

Hypothesis

1. The majority of drivers are not

prepared for a flat tire on the
road.
2. Males are more likely to know
how to change a tire in an
emergency.
3. The majority of drivers dont
know how to analyze tires for
safe driving.

With question 2, I determined that
most people actually have the right
equipment to change tires, but
almost half did not. In question 3, I
also found that most people
actually know how to change a tire
off the road and that correlated to
the individuals who actually had the
equipment. In question 4, I
discovered most people dont know
how to check tread; something
simple and important. In question
5, around have the surveyors knew
how to check tire pressure. In

question 7, I discovered barely
anyone knew how to rotate tires,
which is a tedious tires, but can
save you money if you do it at
home. Also, a few people knew if
their car was either directional or
non-directional from question 9. It is
not a well-known thing, but is
helpful when determining how to
rotate cars. Also there was a direct
correlation between people that
know if their cars were directional
or non-directional and how to rotate
tire. Lastly, most people changed
their oil regularly; which is very
