The System Module is the center of the system. It has all the
external interfaces of the BTS (apart from the antenna interfaces).
Main functions of the System Module are the Transport, BTS O&M,
synchronization, power distribution and baseband processing
functions. System Module interfaces support up to four Radio
Modules with local power feed. Radio modules are connected to
System Module through RP3-01 interfaces.

The SURPASS hiD 66xx product family consists of three products, the 6630,
the 6650 and the 6670 each supporting a different number of exchangeable
line interface cards.
Note : The licence is different from TRX hardware activation of Flexi EDGE BTS
Content
There are two variants of Medusa System Module The difference is in the
capacity of integrated baseband processing:
ESMB - up to 18 carriers (TRXs) capacity (TRX IDs: 1 .. 18)
ESMC - up to 36 carriers (TRXs) capacity (TRX IDs: 1 .. 36)
More than one System Module can be configured in a single BTS site when the
Multi BCF / common BCCH feature is in use
System Module units must be synchronized together

RFM transmit power shared between several
carriers has similar impact on the cell range as
combiner losses in Flexi EDGE BTS
Significantly less HW elements required in case of
Flexi MR BTS observed especially for higher
BTS configurations
Cell ranges of Multiradio BTS are comparable with
Flexi EDGE BTS & BTSplus
