ABSTRACT
This project is to study the impact of the model Fillet at the base of the gear teeth on the Finite
element method to the damage that occurs to the gear teeth. By fix the gear in place and apply force to the
surface of the gear. Which may be damaged due to bending stresses at the base of the gear. To apply force
to the surface of the gear will cause a gear bending stresses. This causes gear damage. It was designed for a
range of fillet appropriate Sprockets and analyzed bending stresses that occur on the gear backlash. By use
of the finite element method at size diameter pitch P 96 mm thickness of gear 10 mm module 4 mm and
force press 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 4000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, 6000 Newton, pressure angle 20o
and shift radius of a fillet from the standard size -1, -0.5, -0.5 and + 1 mm to find a appropriate mesh. The
results of the test gear with a mesh size of 0,001 meters.
Keywords: Radius of fillet, Spur gear, Angle press , Module.
