Phase I

: Presentation of the topic

Teacher calls a group of ten students mixed of boys and girls. Teacher asks them to assemble like a
machine in a mill.
Phase II : Demonstration
Students starting demonstrating them.
Step 1
Students assemble like a machine in the mill.
Step 2
One student comes forward who is the owner of the mill.
Other plays the role of machine operator.
Step 3
A customer comes to the mill with some rice.
Step 4
The operator puts rice in the machine and started the machine. The machine rotated very slowly
with a noise.
Step 5
The customer becomes angry and he calls the owner and complaints.
Step 6
The owner asks the operator to put some oil to the machine. Operator does so.
Step 7
The machine rotates fastly and the sound is completely gone. The rice was easily crushed.

Phase III Explanation of the topic

Teacher : Why the machine does not worked properly at first?
Student : Due to friction0
Teacher : Why do we use oil in machines?
Student : To reduce friction.
Teacher : What is the name used to call the materials which reduce friction?
