Week in Review: November 23 - 27

Baby Tydan came to visit our class on Monday! The focus of this months visit was why babies might cry
and how to soothe babies. The students also talked with Mrs. Magee ahead of time that a crying baby is
not a bad baby. Tydan had lots of smiles for us and he was joined by both his mom and dad this time
Our latest poem is November. This time I had the students draw their own pictures to go along with
the words
We covered the letter T this week in Sound Connections and we did our Tt letter story on Tuesday.
Ask your child to point out at least three t words in their picture!
We are part of an Alphabet Exchange with 25 other classrooms throughout B.C. Each classroom is
responsible for making 26 of the same letter and mailing out one to each of the participating classes. So
far we have received 12 letters of the alphabet! We were assigned the letter Q and we decorated our
letters on Friday. Ask your child if they remember the two q words to describe how we decorated them.
Come and check out our alphabet on the bulletin board in our classroom as it arrives

Monday Tutu party will be at 6 pm with Mrs. Taggart for those parents that had signed up. If you have
not yet signed up, but your daughter requires a tutu, please contact me so that we can arrange for more
supplies.
Tuesday - there will be a Lockdown practice for the whole school. In class we have already discussed the
reasons behind a lockdown being necessary (e.g. animal in the building/on the playground, person we dont
know in the school, someone being unsafe in the hallway). We keep it very matter of fact and field any
questions that come up. It is compared to a fire drill in that we practice so we know exactly what to do
if it really happens and it is to help keep us safe. If you have any questions about the lockdown practice
or what our procedures look like, please send me an e-mail, give me a call or stop by to see me.
