Artifact Description: Truss Bridge + Reflection
What I learned:

In this project, I learned the basic skills of using the line tool. I

wasnt aware that the line tool was a possible to tool to use outside of paint. Exploring
more with PowerPoint was very helpful to me. It took me quite a bit of time to find what
I was looking for. For example, changing the size of the line required me to click on
every option possible before being able to find it. Next time, building a basic image
should not take me as long now that I have become more familiar with the tools. When I
first began this project I started with the shapes tool. More specifically, the triangle inside
of the bridge, however I feel that using the line tool was more effective for this project.
National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS)T
Addressed: Standard #1 Demonstrating Creative thinking, constructing knowledge, and
developing innovative products and processes using technology.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future: I feel as though I can use these skills in
the future for creating projects for my students. I think having the students build a simple
bridge using the line tool at a young age can help them greatly with projects in their
future. Having students introduced to projects like these will help confusion for them in
the future and speed up the process of their future projects. I think its good to introduce
our students and children to technology at a young age for what a useful and helpful tool
it can be. It also can give them a better concept of lines and symmetry. As a future
educator, I will assign my students a learning activity that includes using the line tool and
other various tools.
