Math: Students will model equivalent


fractions. They will also explore equivalency
with mixed numbers and improper fractions,
as well as identify fractions using a number
line. They will have an assessment on
fractions Friday, February 12.
Reading: Students will be introduced to the
elements of poetry.
Writing: Students will continue working with
their peers on their opinion writing to
improve their writing.
Science: Students will continue to observe
how the animals interact with the living and
nonliving elements in their environment.
Earth Materials: Students investigate four unnamed

minerals
and recognize that noting the visible properties in
not enough to make a positive identification.
Social Studies: Student will complete a
jigsaw activity and complete a fact sheet
from the FTC (Federal Trade Commission).
