Technology and Design February 26, 2016

This week by finished our catapults. Last week we created a catapult were I
showed them a design they had to create. They also got to create a design of
their groups' choice. I showed them a number of ideas to spark their imagination.
They built their catapults and started to conduct trials on them last week. This
week, we finished our trials. We set up a new test that tested their power. They
had a stack of cups in a pyramid and they were trying to knock down the cups their
catapults and a washer. We compared our 2 designs to one another. I have
pictures of our trials and our unique catapults on my class blog.
This week we also continued and finished our research on inventions. They
continued with their prototypes that were created electronically using Google
Chrome apps such as Lego Builder, 3D Tin or 3D Design Something. The groups
have created a presentation and they will be presenting today, in class.
