ELEC 4225 Midterm Computer Project - Due 3/30/2016

Design a DC current source to meet the following specifications:

- Current source value: 100 u-amps +/- 1% (over all possible load and supply voltage
conditions).
- Output resistance: >20 Mohms.
- Available DC voltage sources are bipolar and range from 5 to 15 volts in magnitude.
- Maximum allowable resistor size is 20kohm (do not add resistors in series to obtain larger
values).
- Specify the maximum allowable load range.

You may use any BJT(s), JFET(s) or MOSFET(s) available in the PSpice library. Refer to the
circuits presented by Soclof at the end of chapter 3 for ideas.

Write up your design in a report with the following format:

- Cover page including name, course, date and title.
- Description of circuit operation (1 page max).
- PSpice/ORCAD simulation(s) showing that all of the required specifications are met.
- A plot of the output impedance vs. frequency.
- Complete listing of the model parameters of all devices used in the design. (Draw a model
showing where they all go.)
- Characteristic curves of the devices used showing the parameters of the simplified DC
model. (Design a test circuit to plot these curves.)
