Nomenclature, is clearly visible, securely fixed, is durable and
correlates with any remote labels.

Check that access is safe for operational purpose and adequate

access for adjustments, maintenance and repairs.

Illumination in the plant area is adequate.

Check receipt of manufacturers test certificate

The installation is complete and correct in accordance with the

latest drawings and specifications.

Lubricating facilities are satisfactory and the correct lubricants

have been applied.

Check the gate plate for its correct operation in the horizontal
plane and straightness of gate frame.

Check the location of the flat guide bars on the frame. The ends
should not interfere with the travel of the plate or be in the path of
movement.

Check the proper stroking of the gate plate.

Check the condition of packing in the gland.
