CAS Activity Proposal Form
Student name: Josephine Romaris Asima Form: Service Proposed activity: Giving Parcels to Villagers in Jogja Date of starting: July 3rd, 2015 Day: Friday Approximate time: 24 hours Name of Adult leader (supervisor): Stefanus A.N. Lie Position: Teen Adviser at Church Contact detail: Please comment on how this activity will help you to achieve the Learning Outcomes as IB CAS requirement? This summer, I will be participating in a Bible camp at a very well established church that has 50 separate venues in different regions of Indonesia. There were over 100 youth from various areas gathered for this camp. The camp restricted the use of gadgets and electronics making us socialize more with our new friends. Within the 8 days of camp, we will be doing chores and activities that are beneficial for our own well-being as well as people around the campsite (local citizens). On the fifth day, we spent our morning doing our routines and at noon we started packing some parcels. We brought the contents ourselves from home and handcrafted the decorations for each parcels. I hope that through this activity I will be a better servant for the kingdom of God. Learning Outcomes: Considered the Ethical Implication of their Action: Through this service activity I hope that I will be more considerate and aware of the ethical implications upon my actions. Every activity that we do would impact our surroundings, both positively and negatively, which is why upon reaching the end of this activity I would like to develop my awareness regarding the ethical implications of my actions. Engaged in issues of global importance: Since the activity will be done outside of my hometown and the use of gadgets is prohibited, I hope that I get to socialize more with new friends from over 20 cities in Indonesia. Through this, I hope that I will me more engaged with global issues and its importance. Activity Leader: This student has given me the letter providing information about this CAS program. I am aware of the need for evaluation and am willing to provide this. Leaders signature:
