RELATIONS WITH THE SUPPORT OF FAMILY COPING MECHANISM

FAMILY ON PATIENT EXPERIENCE IN HEMODIALISA
IBNU SINA HOSPITAL GRESIK

Data Diatrans Kidney Foundation Indonesia (2012 ) states that the number of
kidney failure patients in Indonesia reached 70 thousand more . East Java ranks third at 0.3 %
in Indonesia. Family support is one of the main external resource in coping sufferers . Family
coping as a positive response that the family used to solve a problem. Family coping as a
positive response that the family used to solve a problem . The results of the initial survey in
Ibn Sina Hospital of Gresik shows 6 out of 10 respondents lack of family support , therefore
this study aims to determine the mechanism of family coping with family support in patients
undergoing hemodialysis.
This study design was cross -sectional with a population of 233 patients with
chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis obtained a sample of 70 respondents . Sample
collection technique using systematic random sampling and data collection using
questionnaire technique , while the test used was Spearman rho .
The results showed a significant relationship between family coping mechanism for
family support in patients undergoing hemodialysis in Ibn Sina Hospital of Gresik with a
value of p = 0.000 > = 0,05
The above description can be concluded that the coping mechanisms of families can
affect family support .
