RELATIONS FAMILY COPING MECHANISM FOR FAMILY SUPPORT

IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING HEMODIALYSIS IN IBNU SINA
HOSPITAL OF GRESIK.

Data kidney foundatin diatrans Indonesia in 2012 mentions that the
number of kidney patients in Indonesia reached 70 thousand more. East Java
ranks 3 at 0,3 percent in Indonesia. Family support is one of the main external
resource in coping sufferers. Family coping as a positive response that the family
used to solve a problem. The results of the initial survey in IBNU SINA
HOSPITAL of GRESIK shows 6 out of 10 respondents are less family support,
therefore this study aims to determine the mechanism of family coping with
family support in patients undergoing hemodialysis.
The study design was cross sectional with a populatin of 233 patients with
cronic renul failure who undergo hemodialysis obtained a sample of 70
respondents. Sample collection technique using systematic random sampling and
data collection using questionnaire technique, while the test used was Spearman
rho.
The results showed a significant relationship between family coping
mechanisms for family support in patients undergoing hemodialysis in IBNU
SINA HOSPITAL of GRESIK with p=0,000 > a=0,05
The description above can be concluded hat the coping mechanisms of
families can affect family support.
