CAS requirement?
Cooking is something that is very important in my family as my mother, father and older
brother all can cook. I really want to have the sense of unity through being able to cook too.
Learning how to cook will help me learn new things and help me add on my skills. Having
more skill will be beneficial in the future.
Learning Outcomes:
Increase awareness of strength and limitationWith learning how to cook, it will show me whether I can actually cook good food or not.
It motivates me and it shows me my strengths and limitation in terms of cooking. I am
very impatient so by learning how to cook and being aware of that it helps me control
myself.
CommitmentCooking takes a lot of time, not all food is easy to cook and I wont succeed directly in
my first trial. By learning how to cook it teaches me to commit to what I am doing and
not quit before I finish or before I succeed. It helps me to committing to never stopping
to try until I stop failing even if it takes a really long time and effort.
Undertake new challengesHaving no experience in cooking will mean that whole thing is a new experience. I did
try cooking with my parents and brother but I never did something on my own. Having
cooking lessons will help me have better understanding about cooking and baking and
help me figure out whether I am better in cooking or cooking. This is a new challenge
that I have to face.
Develop new skillsHaving this as a part of my CAS will upgrade my skills. Everyone needs to at least know
hot to cook basic things for survival especially as a teenager whose about to go
overseas for university. Living alone wont be easy, and having to develop the skill of
cooking will help me have an easier like abroad without having my parents or brother
helping me out.
