Role Play on Today’s Corporate World

Hi friends we are going to perform role play on working in leading private sector bank, which
might be dream job for many of us. Let me give u brief up on characters and hierarchy of the
organisation.

Roles:-

Area Sales Manager (ASM) :- Mr. Srijit Nair

Sales Manager(SM) :- Mr. Paresh Agrawal

Team Leader (TL) :- Mr. Pratik Monpara

Sales Executive :- (1) Mr. Milan Adodariya

(2) Mr. Dharmik Siddhpura

(3) Mr. Mehul Bhatti & 12 more.....

By this play we will come to know various aspects like.................. of actual corporate world.
Day 1

(ASM sitting in his office calling to SM in his office)

ASM : Paresh come in my office.

SM: Yes Sir see u in ur office.

SM: May I come in Sir ?

ASM: Come.

SM: Good morning sir.

ASM: Very good morning Paresh.

ASM : So whats up ? Hows ur business going on ?

SM: Yes sir currently I am recruiting the team, as per manpower budget I need 8 more people
in my team to achieve the given targets.

ASM: So currently u have 2 people in ur team, right ?

SM: Yes Sir one is TL Mr.Pratik & other Mr. Dharmik who is Sales Executive.

ASM: Paresh I have got new months targets for ur team. We don’t have time, I hope u can
understand the things ?

SM: Yes Sir I understand the situation.

ASM: Good. I want 10 people on board within two days of time. Do whatever you want to
do for that. Am I clear ?

SM: Yes Sir !!

(SM calling to his team)

SM: Hello Pratik ?

TL: Yes Sir. Good morning.

SM: Morning Pratik. I want to see u and Dharmik in my office right now.

(TL calls to dharmik)

TL : Dharmik, Pratik here. Sir wants to meet both of us right now. Come to office quickly.

Dharmik: Why Sir ? What Happen ? (Asking with worry)

TL : No clue. He has just come out from ASM’s office.


Dharmik: OK. I will be there within 5 min.

(After 5 mins. Dharmik meets Pratik in office)

TL: Lets go to Boss’ cabin.

(Both walk towards SM’s office)

TL: May I come in Sir ?

SM: “ Aa jao yar”.

SM: Good morning guys. Have a seat.

Both: Good morning Sir.

SM: Guys come to the business. New month has already been started, I got the targets for
month. Pratik U need to have min. 9 people under u in ur team. Ur target for the month is 100
A/c’s with product mix. To achieve this target U have to maintain productivity of 10 A/c per
Exe. Including you. And for that U need to have full fledge team on board within 2 days time.
Talk to ur references and send the candidates to me for interview today and tomorrow
between 4 to 6 pm. U can have help of our tied up consultants also.

TL: Sir it is difficult to recruit 8 people in 2 days time.

SM: Pratik I am there to help u out but I want this to happen any how.

TL: OK Sir.

(Next day in the morning)

SM on phone to ASM: Good morning Sir.

ASM: Good morning Paresh ? What’s ur planning for today ?

SM: Sir, for this 2 days I am behind the recruitment part, I am identifying and interviewing
the candidates.

ASM: As discussed will u get team of 10 people on board by tomorrow day end ?

SM: Yes Sir definitely .

ASM: Make it fast buddy, We have targets for the month. All the best for the day....

SM: Yeh. Thank u Sir.

SM on phone with TL: Hi pratik ! What is status of recruitment ?

TL: Good morning Sir! I am sending to u 5 people for interview today between 4 to 6 pm.

SM: Its 10 am. Try to arrange 5 more candidate and send 10 candidates to me today for
interview.
TL: OK Sir. I will do that.

( At 4 pm candidate Mr.Milan come to SM’s office for interview, waiting outside SM’s office
for 20 mins.)

Milan: May I come in Sir.

SM: Pls come in.

Milan: (With doing hand shake) Good evening Sir I am Milan Adodariya,

SM: Good Evening. Have a seat.

Milan : Thank u Sir.

SM: Can I have ur CV ?

Milan: Yes Sir ( by handing over CV to SM)

SM: Milan, Brief me something about your self.

Milan: I will start with my family background, We are 4 family members my father is
teacher, mother is house wife and younger sister she is student I have done MBA from K.S.
Inst. of business management.

SM: What do u learn from MBA ?

Milan: The learning from MBA has inculcate management skills in me, I learnt various
marketing strategy used by corporate world and how managers deal with critical situations.

SM: What are ur strengths.

Milan : Confidence in myself n positive attitude are my biggest strengths.

(SM asks some more questions related to academic,attitude & candidates understanding
towards job profile)

(Milan has got selected now salary negotiation part)

SM: Yes Milan what is ur salary expectation ?

Milan: Sir I am expecting package of Rs.2.5 lacs P.A.

SM: Milan its good to think big, but seeing ur education and experience of 1 year you are
expection too much !!

Milan: Sir I have good experience of 1 year within the same industries and knowledge too to
justify the job role.
SM: Milan its true, that’s why you have got selected over here. Look, be realistic, seeing the
cuurent markt scenario no body will give you that much of package with your qualification &
experience.

Milan: Sir, how much you can offer to me.

SM: The best deal what we will offer you is 1.5 lacs P.A.

Milan: Its too less according to my expectations and further I am already having offer of
Rs.1.7 lacs P.A. in the industry.

SM :See ,Milan considering everything what I can offer you is growth of 30% on your
existing salary package and that will be 1.75 lacs P.A. You thinh over it I will give you time
of 1 day.

Milan: Fine sir let me put a thought on it and I will call you back tomorrow at 11:30 in
morning.

SM: OK Milan confirm me ur acceptance and accordingly I will talk to my HR.

(By end of day SM n team has recruit 7 people on board, next day in the morning after
negotiation all the candidates are finalised and going to join on day after tommorow).

ASM calls to SM: Paresh what is the seen of recruitment ?

SM: Sir now I have 9 people on board against budget of 10.

ASM :What are you doing for remaining 1.

SM: Sir for that I have identified 3 candidates who will come to meet me tomorrow.

ASM: I am sending you 1 guy Mr.Mehul, I had met him good guy. Take him in your team.

SM: OK.. Sir.

ASM: So now you have full team size on board ?

SM: Yes Sir.

ASM: Good. I appreciate your efforts to build up a team within 2 days of time. Now finish
their training and start working on your targets.

SM: Yes Sir, all the candidates are going to join by tomorrow and I will give them freshers
training also.

ASM: ok. Now I want to see solid focus on A/c sourcing.

(On next day morning all meets in training room SM,TL n Team).

SM: Good morning everybody.


Team: Good Morning Sir.

SM: Lets give brief introduction of your self quickly.

(Every body gives their introduction- Perform it)

SM: Guys now I gives you the brief idea of our organisation structure and your job profile.

(Every body is focusing on SM’s speech)

(SM giving brief idea of hierarchy)

SM: Now we will go through your job profile part. Guys you all are Marketing
Executive(ME) over here and Pratik is TL. ME’s would be reporting to TL Pratik and mainly
responsible to source new Savings A/c into the system by contacting ur
referances,relatives,cold calling, tele calling etc. And TL would be handling team along with
sourcing A/c’s.

Now Product part. We have mainly 3 type of savings a/c’s, namely SB Regular(5000), SB
max(25000) & SB Classic(100000).

(Now SM finish all the formalities of training.)

(Next day morning in the meeting room whole team with SM discussing sales plan and
scheduled for the day).
