Talent Quest: The children have been practicing hard for their Talent Quest which takes place on Tuesday (9th
November). We would like all the children at school by 5.15 p.m. please, to be prepared for a 6.00 p.m. start.
Gold coin entry for adults. Hotdogs will be on sale at 5.00 p.m. ($2 each). Wine and juice will be on sale (donation)
before the show and coffee will be served at half time. We look forward to seeing everyone there on the night.
We appreciate having Deirdre Tarrant Director of Footnote Dance Company & Principal of Tarrant Dance Studios
and her son Jono McKenzie, as our judges for the Talent Quest.
Talent Quest Parent Helpers Required: The staff and PTA need some extra help on the night of the Talent
Quest as we are expecting a large turnout for the occasion. Please complete the tear off slip and return it to the
office by Monday morning if you can help with set up, tidy up etc and the PTA will contact you via phone or e. mail
Monday evening to confirm arrangements.
2011 Term 1 Roll: We are currently confirming our final roll numbers for Term 1 2011. We are delighted that
we have a lot of new families joining our community, most of the families have two or three siblings so there are
new enrolments in all year groups.
Sexuality Education: The Sexuality Education programme begins this week. It forms part of the Health and
Physical Education programme. The Learning Outcomes for each unit for each of the homegroups was sent out with
Events last week. If you have any questions about the programme, please contact us at school.
Sustainable Coastlines Presentation: Sam Judd, ex CTMS student and Charity Cofounder of the Sustainable
Coastlines Organisation will be giving a presentation to the CTMS students about marine debris and ways that they
sustain and protect N.Z. coastlines. For more information: www.sustainablecoastlines.org
Photo Board: We are asking families to supply a 4” x 6” recent family photo for a new photo board in the school.
This is to enable families to become familiar with other families that they might not see on a regular basis.
Calendar and Cards Fundraiser: Final orders can be taken on the night of the Talent Quest. Please see Janice up
in the staffroom to place your order ($12.00 per calendar or pack of 10 cards).
School Teatowels: Thank you to Christine and Robert Tromop who kindly donated the 100 tea towels for the
CTMS PTA fundraiser. Due to demand, a small batch of extra red tea towels are being printed and will be available
to buy at the Talent Quest - $10.00 each.
School Photographs: These are scheduled for Thursday 11th November. Please return your order forms prior to
this date. We cannot accept orders/payments on the day as the photographer needs final numbers at 8.00 a.m. on
the morning.
Early Nights: With all the extra activities planned leading up to the end of the School Year e.g. Talent Quests,
Guy Fawkes etc. please ensure that your child is well rested as we are noticing some very tired children at the
moment.
New Home for Spotty: We are moving overseas on 2 December and need a new home for our pet mouse “Spotty”.
Spotty is black/white/brown, about 8 months old and very friendly. Comes with everything you need. Please
contact Barbara (Sophia’s Mum) ph 461-6219.
Term 4 Calendar: We have included a calendar of events leading up to the end of the school year.
