Hear Massage

Hair follicles are amazing little hair production factories which thrive on a constant supply of healthy,
oxygenated blood delivered by a circulatory system in good working order. Drawing the nutrients and
oxygen needed for new cell creation, these new cells push up through the hair follicle where they
eventually die and harden to form new hair.

Scalp massage helps maintain a healthy blood circulation so the hair follicles get what they need. Be
aware though that regular scalp massage can increase the amount of sebum produced in the hair
follicle. Sebum is the natural oil produced by the body to protect the hair. If your hair is very oily you
may need to decrease the number of times you do a scalp massage.

Here are two scalp massage procedures you can do by yourself for healthy hair maintenance. They are
easily done each day while showering and washing the hair.

Scalp Massage No. 1: The Friction Massage

 For this massage use the balls of the fingers (not the finger tips) in rapid movements over the
scalp.
 Move the fingers in circular movements firmly over the whole scalp starting from the front of
the head and moving back to the nape of the neck.
 From the nape of the neck use the same motion to move forward to the front of the head.

This vigorous action will make the scalp tingle and relaxed.

Scalp Massage No. 2: The Kneading Massage

 Use the balls of the fingers of both hands (not the finger tips) and spread them out over the
scalp.
 Press firmly and rotate the skin. Do not move the fingers over the scalp. Rotate the skin in
one area then move to another area of the scalp until the whole area is covered. This should be a
slow, firm, kneading movement.
 Rotating Action: The fingers of one hand can move in one direction, e.g. clockwise, and the
fingers of the other hand can move in the other direction. Keep the fingers of one hand still while the
other rotates and visa versa.

Here is a suggested route:

Start at the nape of the neck

 Then around to the ears

 Then around to the front hairline
 Then across the top of the head back to the nape of the neck

This scalp massage is particularly effective in increasing blood circulation as well as in stimulating
glands and muscles.

Healthy hair is the result of proper diet and exercise to make sure the body is working well on the
inside as well as proper care and attention to the scalp and hair on the outside.

Perform scalp massage each day and enjoy the benefits with great looking, healthy hair.

Washing

Many of us feel a bit lazy to wash our hair. Some even skip at times when needed. In some cases
washing hair seems to be a complicated issue altogether.

But this fear of washing hair can be got ridden off. Just by reading this passage you will know how
easy washing hair is.

And you will love to do it frequently as and when required without being lazy and hesitant.

How frequently should you wash your hair, is it weekly twice, on alternate days, daily or weekly once?
Answer to this question depends truly on what type of hair you have. If you have very fine hair and
you feel that it gets oily very soon then try not to wash your hair many times.

Because it is considered that natural oil works on the hair slowly, washing hair will take off those
natural oils but anyways if you think that your hair is too oily and suppressed and making your overall
look oily and dull then washing hair is better option.

By frequently washing hair you cannot even imagine what damage you are going to cause to your
hair. Shampooing and drying up your hair will definitely damage your hair to a far extent beyond your
imagination.
Follow some important steps while washing hair.

 Either standing in the shower or with your head leaning over the bath, let your hair hang
naturally while you wash it
 To prepare it for shampooing rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water.
 Take some shampoo into your palm and it all depends on you as to how much your hair
requires shampoo for a complete wash.
 Make a smooth lather of the shampoo in your hands and then put it on to your hair. Starting
from the scalp, work the shampoo into your hair gently and thoroughly massage with your fingertips.
Remember to keep your hair hanging naturally
 Be careful not to rub your wet hair too fiercely, as it is at this stage that hair is very easily
damaged by friction. Rinse, letting the water run through your hair whilst you caress it downwards
with your fingers.

After washing your hair with shampoo, start conditioning. For this you need to follow some
simple steps like

 Be very sure to rinse off the entire shampoo from your hair
 Later pour some conditioner into the palm of your hand.
 Work it in gently applying the conditioner to your hair thoroughly with your fingertips. Spread
the conditioner evenly over the entire hair. A conditioner should be left for a minute or two.
 Now rinse off the conditioner, again allowing the water to run through your hair whilst you
caress it gently downwards. Again, be careful not to rub your wet hair to avoid breakage.

Last step is a proper drying for your hair. Don’t use electric dryers or blow offs better follow the
natural way. Clean the wet hair with a towel and pat dry. Now hope you are very clear as to how
washing hair is so simple.

Hair Tips
Dry Hair Care

 Bad handling of hair may result in damaged, dull hair with split ends.
 If your hair is extremely dry, allow little conditioner to remain in your hair. The excess will be
rubbed off during the towel drying process.
 Shampoo your hair just twice in a week.
 Always cover your locks with skarf or hat, so that they are properly protected from harmful
sun rays.
 Never wash hair with hot water.
 Mix 1 egg,1 teaspoon honey and 2 teaspoon olive oil. Apply it to the wet hair. Cover it with a
shower cap and leave on for at least 30 minutes before shampooing out. It is good conditioner for dry
hair. Read more recipes for Natural hair conditioners
 Mix 1 tablespoon honey to 2 tablespoon shampoo. Shampoo as usual.
 For dry hair use a shampoo or tonic, that provides more moisture and nutrition to hair.
 Be careful while choosing the conditioner. The best conditioner for dry hair is oil massage and
among the most effective hair oils are olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil and mustard oil. Olive
oil prevents dryness as well as cures hair loss. It protects hair from harsh sun rays and is also
enhanced as a super hair conditioner by the sun’s natural heat.

Oily Hair Care

Oily hair is due to oily scalp that results from the excessive oil production by Sebaceous glands. Such
type of hair needs specific treatements.

 Add Aloe vera gel with shampoo.Mix well and apply.

 Wash your hair after two days.

 Use diet rich in vitamin E.

 Protect your hair, as well as your skin, from harmful sun rays. Use a sunscreen on hairline
partings.

 Beat 2 eggs in a cup of warm water. Massage the mixture into wet hair. Leave on 5 to 10
minutes and rinse in tepid water.

 Mix one egg into your regular shampoo to get stronger and healthier hair.

 Use plain yogurt as a hair conditioner.

 Mash a banana and mix with a few drops of almond oil. Massage entire head. Leave on 15
minutes and rinse throughly.

 Add lemon juice into water for lighter hair. Use this water as final hair rinse.

Normal hair
Normal hair is healthy, bouncy, soft and shiny. With a good cut, these are easy to manage. Since most
people do not have perfect hair. some hair is too dry and some hair is too oily. Both these types of
hair needs different treatments. Dry hair needs extra conditioning while oily hair have surplus oil and
this is because of the extra oil, secreted by the oil glands. This oil collects on the scalp and hair,
making them greasy
