Balance - arrangement of elements to
create a feeling of stability (symmetrical: same on both sides,
asymmetrical: similar but not exactly the same)
Emphasis - elements used to create
visual dominance or a focal point.
Contrast - a difference between
elements to create a more dynamic composition (light/dark,
warm/cool, big small, empty/full, organic/geometric)
Movement - combing elements to direct
the viewers eye or create the look of action (visual movement)
Repetition - combining elements
again and again to create a visual rhythm or beat
Pattern - structural repetition,
combining elements in an organized and repeated manner
