Energy meters currently only measure energy consumption over time and do not directly indicate power usage or other electrical parameters. This document proposes designing a new type of energy meter that can measure and display voltage, current, power, power factor, and energy consumption. The new digital energy meter would provide more accurate readings than existing electrolytic, motor, or electronic meters since it has no mechanical components that could affect performance.

measure the quantity of electric energy supplied to a circuit in a given time. Commercial energy meters give no direct indication of power, because their registrations are independent of the rate at which a given quantity of electric energy being consumed. There are mainly three types of energy meters available in the current market.
1. Electrolytic meters 2. Motor meters 3. Electronic meters
Here we are trying to design a new type of the energy
meter which can measure and indicate all the five electrical parameters (Voltage, Current, Power, Power factor and Energy). Once calibrated for the optimum performance, our system gives most reliable and accurate readings since there are no mechanical movements and registers.
