    BACKGROUND OF TARGET GROUP

    Introduction

    Kampong Penanggal is located in Johor 25 km from Pontian. The area of village is 15000
    acres. 10000 acres was plant palm oil and 2000 acres for houses, 3000 acres for pineapple
    and guava.

    Population

    Kampong Penanggal has 1500 people, from 450 families. Majority of them are adult and
    teenagers. Kampong Penanggal have village leader (tok penghulu), JKKK, imam and
    bilal.

    Facilities

    Kampong Penanggal has good facilities. Have one primer school, secondary school,
    clinic, multi purpose hall, football field, also good infrastructure road, water, and electric.

    Youth activity

    Kampong Penanggal are active the youth activities. They have club kompang, tuition
    class and also “silat” club.

    Farmer problem

    25 % of villagers are farmers that plant guava. The biggest problem is lack of knowledge
    for vegetative of guava tree. It easier for farmer to get the best hybrid for their field that
    inherits old plant. It will result the production farm to be increase. Beside that it will
    reduce cost of production. If they buy new plant, they need to find the supplier that can
    supply the new plant with better hybrid.
