More about Painting

The painter creates his own shapes and patterns, leaving reality aside. Graphisms, colours and lines are the star attraction,
because of their plastic values, in the artistic vanguards: Abstraction, Cubism, Neoplasticism, Informalism, Minimal Art.

Colour

Along history, artists have been concerned about colour, its aesthetics and the
harmonies and symbols it evokes. During the Italian Renaissance, lines prevailed over
colours for the building of shapes. In the Baroque period, shape was built by light and
colour. Impressionist painters left shapes aside in order to study the effects produced
by the reflection of light on actual colours. In the 20th century, certain vanguards
consider colour as a fundamental element in their artistic expressions.

Space

Space represents depth in relation to flat or volumetric objects. Planes, lateral and
central distributions, transparencies and superpositions are part of the bidimensional
