INTRODUCTION

This workbook, SLOVENINA PLUS, has been designed for learners of Slovak Peace Corps trainees or volunteers. It is suitable for both beginners and intermediate level students and can be used both during and after the Pre-service training (PST). It contains exercises, tasks for listening comprehension, a few songs, articles for reading comprehension, exercises for practicing of pronunciation, a short dictionary, and miscellaneous items. Chapter one contains various types of exercises that are aimed at practicing the vocabulary and selected grammar structures. The vocabulary used in exercises is from the PST. Chapter two contains tasks for listening comprehension. It has to be used together with a tape. Chapter three contains songs. It has to be used together with a tape. Chapter four contains articles for reading comprehension. Some of the articles aim at practicing vocabulary studied in class, while others seek to enlarge the learners vocabulary. Chapter five contains exercises for practicing pronunciation. It has to be used together with a tape. Chapter six contains a short dictionary with vocabulary studied during the Pre-service training. In the appendix you will find various materials, for instance puzzles and exercises with pictures which are used during the Pre-service training. PST Slovak Language Instructors
