Fall Into Our Week

Reading:
Tumble Bumble by Felicia Bond will be one of several books that we will read to work on objectives such as sequencing, characters, and concepts of print. We will also continue our unit on Readers Build Good Habits by working on noise levels during reading, choosing just right reading spots, and taking care of book tubs!

Writing:
In addition to name, number, date, and capital letters at the beginning of sentences, our Writers Checklist will now include spacing between words. My friends will practice these skills by writing about their weekend, pets/animals, and responsibility.

Math:
Math concepts this week will include counting and comparing numbers, ordering numbers, and introducing story problems.

Bucket Busters

Parents, we continue to deepen our understanding of what Readers Workshop looks like, sounds like, and how it will function throughout the year! I continue to work on DRAs to assess your childs reading level. After I know where your childs just right level is, they will begin to get just right books to keep in their book tubs!
